HISTORY OF WORD PROCESSING

Word processing can be defined as the manipulation of computer generated text data including creating ,editing,storing,retrieving and printing document .Word procsssor developed from typewriters.Long time ago when there wasn't microsoft word people used write with electric typewriters with a tape recorder that could be edited.They were first used for automatic typing of letters and after sometime thy were used to playback material that was typed correctly when correction were added.When microsoft word was realsed some of the typewriters didn't liked it they said that our typeewriter is the best.But the typewriters were not that good as ms. word if they wrote somthing in that and when they printed out it was not exatly the same thing like some of the words were missing and they were hopping tha t no new errors were introduced with the retyping.Those early word processors were very much designed to control the typewriter towhich they were connected. The first word processor was released in 1979by Micropro international.Wordstar was the first commercially successful word software program produced for microcomputers and the best selling software program of the early eighties.
